Welcome and thank you for your interest in Woods Humane Society and your desire to help the many homeless animals we care for each year. We are pleased that you have chosen to join our team. We have been serving the Central Coast since 1955, and our longevity Is largely the result of having volunteers like you!

Woods Ambassadors Volunteers

Objective: To cultivate positive relations in the community

Duties: Assist with or give presentations to community groups, attend special events and distribute information on Woods, encourage others to become active with Woods, and be available to assist with additional outreach projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Must be 16 years of age
2. Must complete a Volunteer Application
3. Must be comfortable with the idea of speaking in front of groups of people

Training:

1. Attend the Welcome Orientation
2. Attend the Ambassador Orientation

Commitment: Must be willing to make at least 1 presentation or event each quarter.

Supervision: Direct Supervision by the Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator

Volunteers under 18 years of age

Must have a parent/guardian release form on file

Volunteers under 16 years of age

Must have a parent/guardian present to volunteer

Community Service Program

Woods Humane Society welcomes participants with both school and court requested community service hours to join us in helping to provide a premier level of care for the dogs and cats at Woods.
